WobbleFest

In late June, I got the chance to play along the shore of Rock Barra Artist Retreat as a collaborator on Michael Cloud Duguay’s Wobblefest – a one-time only, site-specific performance of his album Wobbly Yonder.
Many artists came together to realize this outdoor album release event which saw the songs of the album performed across the landscape of Rock Barra – and in direct conversation with it, and the sea and the sky and the wind.
I brought some Pageant-esque spectacle elements to add to the performance. Mostly giant colourful flags. And A-team Pageant collaborators Jordan Beaulieu & Evan Furness.
It’s a real joy to dip into other people’s collaborative processes, especially when they are well produced and include great people. Wobblefest happened right as the River Clyde Pageant’s summer creation process ramped up, but joining this little project felt like a mini creative vacation. (Stepping in as a tiny cog within someone else’s machine has that effect on me.) Amazing people, an ambitious creative vision, and beautiful music, all within a really extraordinary place. It was my first time being at Rock Barra!
I took almost no photos from the day, but here are a few that Jamie Kronick took from our rehearsal.
